02/05/2018 VANCOUVER, BC – PHASED. byLJ is soon to get noticed, as JCI graduate Lyndsey Jackson presents her first ever collection at Vancouver Fashion Week F/W 2018 Season (VFW). The featured brand is intended to give adventurous women a way to express their individuality comfortably and authentically.

Vancouver Fashion Week is the fastest growing fashion week in the world and the only industry event that actively seeks out to showcase international award-winning designers from over 25 global fashion capitals. Since its inception 17 years ago, VFW has operated with a firm belief in being a well-grounded local initiative with global instincts and intuition.

“Mixing emerging and established designers from across the world has been our recipe for success for over 17 years. Vancouver Fashion Week is fortunate to be working with remarkable talent and growing alongside maturing designers. We are grateful that we as an organization can, and have acted as a stepping stone in their careers.” says Jamal Abdourahman, producer and founder of Vancouver Fashion Week.

Lyndsey Jackson’s collection reflects a variety of new women's fashion trends, and is aesthetically inspired by popular street wear looks in the 90’s. It is augmented by distinct asymmetric shapes and layering systems, which is heavily inspired by electronic music.

Asymmetric cuts, stretch fabrics and monochromatic colours create a comfortable yet structured silhouette. Whether worn for a night out of live music, art exhibits or other casual outings, the “Digital Punk Collection” presents a peerless statement of edgy comfort.

Raised in a creative family, Lyndsey has always had a keen interest in music, fashion, and art. She has also always had an inherent practicality, and obtained a Bachelor of Business in Vancouver, but after six months living and studying in Berlin her interest in the arts resurfaced.

The Vancouver-based designer recently made the decision to fully immerse herself in the world of fashion, and graduated in the study of fashion design at John Casablancas Institute.

Lyndsey believes that fashion is a form of expression that is easily accessible to any individual. It is also an art that requires both logic and practicality.
PHASED. byLJ aims to provide adventurous women with new perspectives and a raw, unassuming sense of beauty. At the end of the day, it is the design of a garment that helps you express your personality and charm.

Vancouver Fashion Week is entering its 18th year and 31stseason. Focusing on creating a diverse and eclectic showcase of talented local and international designers, VFW propels featured designers and esteemed brands to the forefront of fashion media and to industry buyers. This runway event is one of the fastest growing fashion weeks in the world, and since 2001, Vancouver Fashion Week has acted as a stepping-stone for emerging designers to launch their creations into the fashion industry in hopes of one day appearing on the stages of London, Paris, Milan, and New York.
